38TH QUEENSTOWN CC OPEN CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP 2009

1. The Championship will be organised and played according to the FIDE Laws of Chess
and the FIDE Rules for 60-minute chess.

2. The schedule for the Championship is as follows:
22 August 2009, Saturday Round 1 2.00pm to 4.00pm
Round 2 4.30pm to 6.30pm
Round 3 7.30pm to 9.30pm
23 August 2009, Sunday Round 4 9.00am to 11.00am
Round 5 11.30am to 1.30pm
Round 6 2.30pm to 4.30pm
Round 7 5.00pm to 7.00pm
Prize giving 8.00pm to 8.30pm

3. System: Swiss System of 7 rounds.

4. Venue: Queenstown Community Centre.

5. Entry fees: $20.00(Adults)(inclusive of rating fees)
$10.00(U-20)(inclusive of rating fees)
(Entries sent through the internet will not be accepted)

All cheques should be made payable to “Queenstown CC Management Committee”
and mail to 365 Commonwealth Avenue, Singapore 149732.

6. Format: The tournament will be divided into 2 sections:
Open Section : Open to all participants.
Novice Section : Open only to participants with SCF rating 1600 & below

7. Prizes: The first prize for the Open Section is $400.00 and $150.00 for the Novice Section.

8. Closing Date: 10 August 2009 at 5.00pm. Late entries (including entries by fax, e-mail and
internet) will not be accepted.

9. Tie Break: a) Solkoff (WP) d) Individual results
b) Sonne-Berger (SB) e) Higher number of won games
c) Progressive score (PS) f) Toss of coin
